Jared Paul Stern, who
worked as a freelance gossip writer for the New York Post's,
Page Six column, was suspended because of a federal investigation into
whether he allegedly tried to extort money from billionaire financier Ron Burkle,
the newspaper said on Thursday, April 6, 2006.
